MBA success for Andrew

A partner at Oglethorpe, Sturton and Gillibrand is celebrating success after two years of hard study.

Andrew Royce, who heads the Commercial Department at Oglethorpe, Sturton and Gillibrand, has gained an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Lancaster University.

He will be one of the few solicitors in England with this acclaimed business qualification.

“It’s certainly been a challenge combining academic study with a full time legal practice,” says Andrew. “But it has been worthwhile as I am now very well placed to deliver practical commercial advice to the wide range of clients at OSG.”

Andrew, 46, will receive his MBA on 14th December at the University.

He joined the OSG team in 2008 from Jameson and Hill, solicitors in Hertfordshire pursuing a ‘lifestyle’ move to the North.

“Having joined the family firm in 1989 with legal qualifications, I had always wanted to obtain business qualifications," adds Andrew. "This now adds to more than 20 years of experience of not only advising businesses but running the business that is a firm of solicitors. The degree course allowed me to explore particular areas of business management which substantially added to the knowledge I already had.”
