Fiona qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 after undertaking a Law Degree part time, whilst working and bringing up a young family. She is currently studying for a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma in Trust and Estates; having taken and passed three of the four examinations required.

Fiona was brought up locally and has lived in North Lancashire, close to the border with Cumbria for most of her life. She has been working predominantly with bereaved and elderly clients for the past 10 years and deals with them in a caring and understanding manner.

  • Preparation of Wills, including inheritance tax planning, and Wills involving the creation of Trusts to preserve assets for specific beneficiaries;
  • Creation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney over property and financial affairs and also over health and welfare;
  • Making applications to the Court of Protection;
  • Dealing with the administration of Trusts on behalf of Trustees;
  • Administration of estates on behalf of the Executors including the preparation of Deeds of Variation or Disclaimer where beneficiaries wish to alter the terms of the Will or intestacy;
  • Completing and lodging inheritance tax forms with the HM Revenue & Customs, including successfully applying for exemption for military service.
