We did it!

Staff, family and friends at Oglethorpe Sturton & Gillibrand took on the challenge of the Keswick 2 Barrow walk at the weekend.

An early start time of 5.30am got the team off to a brisk start. The walk, of almost 43 miles started near Keswick, via Thirlmere, Grasmere, Elterwater, Coniston, Lowick and finally reaching Hawcoat Park in Barrow. The course took the team through the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, along country lanes, gravel paths and quiet roads. This gruelling route took stamina, determination and persistence but every team member made it over the finishing line.

The route was lined with supporters and everyone who stood watching gave much needed encouragement to the walkers!

The walk was excellently coordinated and a lot of effort had gone into the organisation of this charity event.

We are all suffering after the event but we are proud to have completed such an achievement, whether we will take up the challenge next year remains to be seen!

Team OSG have raised hundreds of pounds for charity and wish to thank everyone for their sponsorship and support.
